Claire Yackley has been the Choir Director at Dublin High School since 2018. She also teaches AP Music Theory and Musical Theatre. Before moving to California, she taught in Jacksonville, FL after receiving her degree from Florida State University in Choral Music Education. In her time at FSU, she sang in choirs with Judy Bowers, Andre Thomas, and Kevin Fenton. She also participated in the University Singers touring choir - with choral exchanges throughout Puerto Rico, Ireland, England, and Wales. In 2015 she was chosen to participate in an Undergraduate Conducting Symposium for FL ACDA, and got to work with Cara Tasher.
She is a member of the Festival Singers of Florida, a professional choir based in Orlando (originated A Voice 4 Peace in conjunction with the Nairobi Chamber Chorus), and traveled with FSOF for conferences/exchanges - most notably in China and Kenya - and performed in the 2017 Southern Division ACDA Conference AV4P Concert & Exchange. Ms. Yackley has also worked with the Florida State University Summer Music Camps, and the San Jose State University Summer in the City Music Camp. She also spends her summers as the Assistant Director of the Alpharetta Community Chorus Summer Singers. Aside from music and traveling, Ms. Yackley enjoys quality time with quality people, camping/hiking, and art/photography. |
