What is Dublin High School Friends of Music?
We are a non-profit organization made up of band families with a passion for music education who support the DHS Music Program. Any family with a student in the DHS Music Program is a member of the Friends of Music organization and are encouraged to participate. We meet on a monthly basis during the school year starting in August at the conclusion of Band Camp. All members are strongly encouraged to attend Friends of Music Meetings.
How does it work?
Every parent or guardian of a Dublin High School Orchestra, Band or Choir student is encouraged to get involved with Friends of Music. The quickest and easiest way is to pay your participant contribution. You can also volunteer at events. If you want to get even more involved, run for a Board position!

Grub Club for Field Show Competitions - See Music Program Calendar for dates
Ewa David, Anne Yoon, Lili Tarachand l grubclub@dhsirishguard.org
Responsible for feeding 170 musicians, color guard and volunteers prior to each field show competition. Individuals coordinate the menu, solicit donations from Friends of Music, and dedicate 3-4 hours on the day of the event to ensure everyone is fed prior to competition and provide our performers with a snack after competition (requires travel to each competition). Volunteers are needed to help setup and serve the students. A volunteer sign-up will be distributed via email prior to each competition.
Irish Guard Invitational - More information available on the Invitational page. Help is expected by all Friends of Music families!
Hillary Hobbs | hhobbs@dhsirishguard.org
Every year we are fortunate to host a Western Band Association ("WBA") Field Show Competition at Dublin High School. This is one our largest fundraiser of the year. Over 150 volunteers are needed and there are numerous chair positions available. The Irish Guard Invitational has been a great success and we've received many compliments on the venue and our show in general.
Scholarship Committee - Convenes in March, scholarships awarded a Senior Awards Night - May
Coordinator Needed.
The DHS Music Boosters awards scholarship money to graduating Seniors who are currently enrolled in the music program. Committee members will interview each applicant and determine the scholarship money to be awarded. This is probably one of the most rewarding opportunities. Committee members cannot be a parent of a graduating Senior.

I envision a well-rounded music program in which Band, Orchestra and Choir instructors, clinicians, music, uniforms, competition fees, instructional software and more can be made available to all students. Historically, the Music Boosters have been composed primarily of Band parents — which is great. But it would be even more excellent to see Orchestra and Choir parents involved, as all programs can benefit from the services the Music Boosters provide.
