July 24-25, 2026: Student Leader Retreat
Required for leaders only. The first day will be a picnic at Little Yosemite. Second day in the Band Room.

July 26-28, 2026: Color Guard-Only Camp
Required for ALL Color Guard members

July 27-28, 2026: New Member Band Camp
Required for new members and leaders + returning percussion

July 29-August 2, 2026: Full Band/Color Guard Camp
Required for ALL members of Band and Color Guard

Camp Schedule

For Parents

Jul 26 (Sun) 9:00am - 10:00am: Color Guard Parent Orientation Meeting
Location: Band Room
Mandatory for new parents; returning parents are encouraged to attend.

Aug 1 (Sat) 1:30pm - 2:30pm: Irish Guard Parent Orientation Meeting
Location: Band Room
Mandatory for new parents; returning parents are encouraged to attend.

Aug 2 (Sun) 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Band Camp Performance
Location: Gael Stadium
Aug 2 (Sun) 6:00pm - 7:00pm: Family BBQ
Location: Outside the concession stand
Parents, alumni, friends, and family are all invited to attend the annual performance and BBQ!

What is Band/Color Guard Camp?

One of the great traditions of the Irish Guard Marching Band and Colorguard, Band/Color Guard Camp is the week-long day camp held onsite at DHS at the end of the summer. Band/Color Guard Camp is an incredible experience in which students learn the fundamentals of marching, connect with the other members in the band/guard, and produce the first third of their field show. Full attendance at each day of band camp is a grade requirement, so please mark your calendars accordingly.

All students who miss all or some of band camp, will be considered alternates in the first movement of the field show, and will not be written into the drill or music.

Forms Due Before Band Camp

No student will be allowed to participate at band camp without submitting both the Attendance Contract and Medical Form.

There are still several students who have not yet submitted their forms. These were due July 1st! If you are unsure whether yours have been turned in or not, please check with me ASAP.

If you still need to complete and submit your required forms, please follow the steps below:

Download and/or print out your Attendance Contract and Medical Form.
Fully complete and sign both forms (be sure both student and parent/guardian has signed)
- If you foresee any absences or conflicts that need to be added to your attendance contract, please email Mr. Bainton before submitting.
Submit your forms as PDF files using this Submission Google Form.

Forms must be completed before your first day at camp.

REMINDER: All Irish Guard members must supply a WHITE, ½ inch binder on their first day of band camp. All Irish Guard warm-ups, show music, pep music, and other materials will be stored in this binder. The Irish Guard librarians will fill each student’s binder with the required materials on their first day of band camp.

What do I need to do?

First thing's first! Register for Band/Guard.

Once you are registered, and once the show music is available, the music will be emailed to you. It is your responsibility to learn the notes and rhythms to the music before coming to camp.

Please come to Band Camp with:

Instrument/Equipment & music. If you do not own an instrument, please contact our band director.
Music binder & pencil
Athletic clothing (no jeans) and sneakers/tennis shoes (no sandals or Crocs)
A hat (baseball cap or wide-brim)
Sunscreen (not optional… you WILL burn!)
A large water bottle (60z or more) or a gallon-size water jug (preferred)
Lunch, either brought from home or ordered ahead of time
Snacks for breaks (recommended)
Sunglasses and extra socks (recommended)
