Established in 1969, the Irish Guard Marching Band and Color Guard, or simply Irish Guard, is the award-winning marching band of Dublin High School and one of the centerpieces of Dublin, California. Required for all members of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Ensemble, the Irish Guard begins the year with a band camp at the end of July and continues rehearsing every Wednesday from 6-9pm and every Saturday from 10am-5pm in Gael Stadium at DHS. Percussionists and Colorguard members have additional rehearsals every Monday from 6-9pm. The Irish Guard attends every home football game, performs in parades, and competes in several field show competitions all around Northern California from October-November. Students in the Irish Guard benefit from a world class instructional staff that is funded by the Music Boosters. Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is a grade requirement. If you are going to be absent from a rehearsal for any reason, please be sure to fill out the Absence Form (students only) and email Mr. Bainton and your section coaches, as applicable.
